Keeley’s Story
My name is Keeley Donachie. I’m 38 years old and on the 14th of December 2021 my life changed, I was admitted to hospital with a suspected stroke, I was slurring my words, the right side of my face stopped working properly and I lost coordination and feeling in my right hand and arm. When I got out of hospital I decided to draw a self portrait every day (or whenever I could manage) to mark my progress, help with the rehab of my hand and to help mentally deal with what had happened to me. After many tests it turns out that I have Multiple Sclerosis not a stroke but the pictures are still relevant for a brain injury and it shows my recovery and tells my story.
